During the pandemic, Sadia was working inside England's health leadership as Private Secretary to the Chief Medical Officer (the role of a lifetime!). However, overnight, her role shifted from routine to crisis. The hours were long, the pressure relentless — and for months, she was struggling to sleep. She was wired and exhausted all at once. Running on empty, but unable to rest.

During those months, Jorge watched Sadia's sleep suffer and felt the helplessness that comes with not being able to fix something. He wanted to do something to help. So when supermarket shelves were stripped bare and the world felt uncertain, he stumbled across some sleep teas — and bought them, hoping they would help.

They didn't... Just dust coated in flavourings, with very little real herb inside.

So Jorge started buying loose-leaf organic herbs from our local small health store and formulating his own sleep blend at home. And finally, they started to help Sadia sleep.

That was the beginning.

After that, we became a little obsessed. We wanted to understand how herbs actually work — not just as folklore, but as genuine support for the body. We spent years researching, studying, blending teas and tinctures for ourselves. Our kitchen slowly turned into something others might generously call a small apothecary. The more we learned, the more we couldn't go back to what was on the shelves.

So we started Welb.

Everything we make is certified organic. Our blends are rooted in herbalist knowledge and informed by science. There are no microplastics, no pesticides, no dust passed off as medicine. Just real herbs — used the way they've been used for centuries, and made with the kind of care that comes from actually needing them to work.
